Industry placement:
What’s the benefit of a 12-month industry placement?
The ARC ITTC program supports a 12 month immersion within partner organisations. This enriches the learning experience and bridges the gap between academic and industrial environments.
What does the 12-month industry placement mean?
An industry placement may mean any or all of the following:
- An overseas or inter-state placement.
- Time spent in meetings and other events which colocalise industry and you.
- Time spent doing research at an industry placement.
- Time spent observing administrative, social, research, R&D, etc discussions of the industry placement.
What if I can’t leave my base location for 12-months for the industry placement?
The industry placement can be done throughout the candidacy or within a 12-month period. There are many partner organisations and many ways to interact with them – all of which count towards the required 12-months.
Can I pick where I do my industry placement?
The placements will be based on the project and what would be most beneficial for it and the student.
